Acer davidii

Acer davidii, commonly known as Pere David’s maple or Snakebark maple, is a deciduous tree. Originally discovered by French priest Armand David, a missionary in Central China, the Acer davidii is one of the most striking ornamental trees.

The Snakebark maple is known for its unique and eye-catching bark, which exhibits a beautiful snakelike pattern. The bark starts off with a greenish-grey colour, gradually maturing into shades of white, cream and olive green.
